When loading this CAT d3 dozer with no blade, we anticipated a weight of around 40,000lbs as listed from manufacturer specs. However after hitting the scales we found it to be over 50,000 lbs–which put us overweight with no permits, still having to cross state lines. However we quickly swapped out trailers for one with an additional axle, contacted the necessary permitting agencies and kept all parties happy, from the Carrier to the Customer. That’s the Lotus way.
